History of the Kerr
Award
Thomas M. Kerr is Professor Emeritus of
Law and Industrial Administration at the Tepper School of Business. The award
was established in his name in 1986 by a group of his former students
who believe strongly in the
importance of ethical conduct in the business environment. Given
Professor Kerr's lifelong
commitment to the teaching and practice of law, ethics, and civil
liberties, they decided upon an
award in his name as an appropriate means of highlighting these issues
and honoring him.
The original award was intended for MBA
students. John Hooker established a similar award for
undergraduate business majors in 2000.
